A Relaxing Article
By: Zian Choy
It has come to my attention that I spend far too much time picking on words and generally making life interesting for the dozen or so cubicle-dwelling writers and editors [Ed. Note: Some of them are clones.] So I have decided to spend time relaxing and making you read my drivel in the process.
Since I have absolutely nothing better to talk about, I'll write about being editor-in-chief. You might think that dealing with words is the hardest part of the job. It isn't. I have bigger things to tackle, like fighting the no-email-responses monster (NERM), the blogging-but-disappeared beastie (BBDB), and the famous Terrouge sleeping sickness that has slowly taken over the forums. It would be easy to attack the NERM with cell phones and other such modern extravagances but people tend to have an annoyingly large amount of stuff called "privacy." It's such a great nuisance but I let HR take care of that.
Ah, I still haven't talked about the BBDB (I'm sure you can't say it three times fast). The BBDB tends to camouflage itself as a NERM until I dig far enough to strike a blog post or two. Then, I pursue it with a...an...apathetic sense of resignation. Why shouldn't I? I can always find a replacement, right? [Ed. Note: Don't try to fire me to prove your point.] I'm sure the editor will make some sort of snide remark about this paragraph but he's always dispensable. As the wise writer Ray Bradbury pointed out, people are...disposable tissues.
Anyway, there was a point to this but I'm not sure where it went. I'm sure I can find it later. Right now, I feel like going to sleep...
