What's the state of the VI these days? Anyone here know how many active members it has?
Let's do this

Mm. The VI. Still moving along, still alive. I'm not sure on actual numbers of active people, but we have three ships, two of which are nicely active, and a third which is coming back. My guess on active membership is probably in the vicinity of 20, give or take a few.

The number of active threads I've seen lately number far more than in recent times. While there's always a bit of up and down during the summer from people having time out from school, but busy with vacations, it seems to me that, considering the amount of people around, the speed at which threads are moving and the number of them that are being seen to conclusion, activity is at the highest it's been for the past two years. Rather than a big hodgepodge of players getting bogged down with everything, there's a smaller amount getting more done.

Of course, it could just be the BlackShip just rocks. :P
The writers of Battlestar Galactica had an interesting concept: if they were scared of or uncomfortable with what they were writing, they were going to go ahead and do it. ... As a writer myself, I believe I can safely assume that if I ever scare myself, feel unsettled or nauseated by what I've written, or are unsure if people will react well to my characters or stories because of what they are (and not, for instance, how badly I've written them), that I must have finally done something right.

The site's currently offline. It's been ridiculously slow of late. I've been poking Retto about it over the past couple months, and it looks like it's finally being given a tune-up. Hopefully it'll be back up soon!

Oh Vulpine Imperium. I knew thee well.

The ups and downs of Grolgum II/III/IV/28 were pretty much my last hurrah in the role-playing world. I could totally* bring him back from the dead.

* in this post, please take 'could totally' to mean both 'will not' and 'should not'.
